While we had time to give thanks for all of the blessings that were bestowed upon us in 2010 and we had time with family and friends during Christmas and New Year's Eve, now is the time to start another year.  I'm looking forward to all that 2011 has in store for me.  I believe and expect that it will be a good year.

Has anyone told you that you are beautiful today?  I didn't say "look beautiful" but that you are beautiful.  In 2010, we are still concerned with the way the economy is going.  Some of us have cut back on the things that we use to pamper ourselves; the things that make us feel special or look good.  Do you know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and that there is no other person like you in the entire world?  Have you ever seen a snowflake up close?  Did you notice that no two snowflakes are alike?  Each one has its own size and shape and design.  Each is unique in every way. 
 
We tend to forget or, for some, not believe that beauty comes from within.  Yes, we've heard it from our parents or grandparents and maybe thought they were just saying that because it was their job to help build our self confidence.  However, beauty begins within us.  The beauty we have inside is what helps us to develop the beauty on the outside.  It gives us confidence in who we are and what we can become.  It helps us to go out and be "America's Next Top Model" or the person that every little girl or boy wants to be like.  When we embrace the love we have for ourselves it is then that we can feel empowered to be all that we can be.  At this point, we know that our beauty is not based on what others say about us.  Others can't define us if we don't let them. 
 
I am an Avon Representative.  I've been selling Avon's beauty products for 5 years now and love what I do.  It doesn't take much for us women to feel good when it comes to pampering ourselves.  Sometimes just a new tube of lipstick is all it takes to build confidence.  Now after all I said about beauty being on the inside, why bother selling beauty products?  When we were designed, the final product was called "very good".   However, I like to assist women, and men alike, with enhancing the beauty they already have by helping them to take care of their skin.  I assist them with keeping what's already beautiful, beautiful.  As we take care of ourselves inside and out by eating what is right, exercising and using a daily beauty regimen, we prolong the beauty we have.  I love to have a part in making that happen with so many people. 
 
Just like the snowflake, our sizes and shapes are all different but we are all beautiful.  What does beauty mean in 2010?  It means knowing who you are and whose you are.  It means accepting yourself and loving yourself because of who you are not because of some mold into which society tries to squeeze you.  There's nothing more beautiful than watching someone with confidence and a sense of self worth stroll past.  What's beauty in 2010?  You are.  Embrace it.
